If you’re considering applying for a digital nomad visa in Colombia, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process.

Step 1: Identify the right visa
Colombia offers the Visa V for Digital Nomads, allowing individuals to provide remote work services from Colombia to foreign companies, either as independent contractors, employees, or for starting a digital content or information technology venture of interest to the country. For more details, explore the website of the Colombian Government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Here are the requirements for this visa:

  2. Provide a letter in Spanish or English from one or more foreign companies for which the applicant works, indicating the type of relationship and remuneration received.
  3. If under contract with the company, provide evidence or demonstrate being a partner or co-owner of a foreign company and provide a letter stating that remote work for the company is conducted. For entrepreneurs, submit a motivational letter explaining the entrepreneurship project and the financial and human resources available or expected for the venture.
  4. Demonstrate, through bank statements, having minimum income equivalent to three (3) Legal Monthly Minimum Wages (SMLMV) during the last 3 months.
